We had a blast at the Canadian Mining Expo last week! It's always great to have a collective of businesses in one space to measure the strength of an industry and this year was no exception! The Timmins mining industry is strong and thriving, and the mining expo was proof. If you stopped by, we are sure you'll agree with us. There is strength in numbers and those numbers were big!
Between the Gala Dinner, the Golf Invitational, the Investor Forum, the Prospectors Course, the Competitions and Challenges, and Helicopter Tours there was plenty to see and do and people to meet.
We enjoyed seeing many long-time clients within the industry stop by our table to chat. It was also great meeting new faces and making new contacts. The #BigEvent is always great for meeting up with industry friends and partners!

There was also the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce as well as Chinese-based business people all with interest and plans to invest in the Timmins mining industry in various ways. Certainly all good news for northern Ontario mining sectors.
Last, but certainly not least, there was the plaque ceremony in commemoration of Kidd Operations' 50 years of mining in Timmins, held outside the Timmins Chamber of Commerce. The new plaque was revealed on a 10-tonne monument (boulder). That boulder monument sits above a time capsule in the cement underneath, which won't be opened until 2066!
In celebration of this great chapter in Timmins mining history, check out the video below that was commissioned by Kidd Operations to highlight the history of the mine.
