It’s the largest mining show in Canada and NISG had its fingerprints all over it. More than 400 suppliers and junior mining companies converged on Timmins the last week of May for the 8th Annual “Big Event”. The show’s National Publicity Director Jay Cornelson says “The eyes of the world mining community were once again telescoped on Timmins, Ontario, Canada’s Gold Capital.”
That means the eyes of the world also got a first-hand look at NISG. The show included two demo sites for exhibitors and NISG figured prominently in both. NISG assisted show organizers to construct a gravel walkway at the Syracuse Gold mining property on the Back Road. The land is adjacent to the historic Delnite and Aunor gold mines.
The back road site included two working drill rigs and a prospectors’ camp while the McIntyre site featured equipment manufacturers from around the world with a special emphasis on manufacturers from northern Ontario.
Canadian Trade-Ex President and Show Manager Glenn Dredhart says the expo has become so popular that every year they challenge the city to come up with more space to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors.
NISG also supplied the show with a number of porta-potties.
